Nashville rap duo Grits are in the unenviable position of being spiritually inclined artists in a genre primarily known for guns and drugs, but rather than getting down in the mud to play the game, Grits rise above it with a sound that's soulful, hopeful, and true to themselves. REITERATE gives MCs Coffee and Bonafide a chance to flex their rap muscle, and the smooth, nimble rapping on songs like the bouncy, synth-slicked "Walking My Way" prove that their skills are more than up to par. "Sky May Fall" indulges some thought-provoking reflection, but Grits also avoid the trap of heavy-handed preaching.
